Historic Main Street Building to Undergo Restoration

The Arkansas Department of Heritage has granted $94,691 to the Gentry Chamber of Commerce to renovate the historic Gentry Bank Building on Main Street in Gentry. The building, built in 1904, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and has been the office of the Gentry Chamber of Commerce and the United Way of Gentry for about 15 years.

The grant funds will be used to replace the roof structure and repair the ornate limestone and brick facade. The building is owned by the Rai, Railey and Nina Steele Civic Endowment.
